Anorthoroselite on Calcite (variety Co-bearing)
Anorthoroselite on Calcite (variety Co-bearing). Photo: Joaquim Callén
Photo: Joaquim Callén

Recorded under neon light

MPB49CD1: Extremely unusual, especially for its orange-brown color. The analyses do not lie, so it is undoubtedly Anorthoroselite and it is also of good quality, with the crystal groupings in sheaves and with its slightly pink Calcite matrix. If you are looking for something different, this piece is it.
Agoudal Mines, Tansifite, Agdz, Bou Azzer mining district, Zagora Province, Drâa-Tafilalet Region  Morocco (2023)

Specimen size: 7.4 × 4.7 × 5.6 cm = 2.91” × 1.85” × 2.20”

Erythrite with Quartz

TPQ74CD3: Radiating groups of Erythrite crystals forming a very aesthetic complete rosette, with intense and deep color in clear contrast with the light-colored matrix partially covered by Quartz crystals.
A very unique specimen, difficult to achieve for its perfection, the quantity and quality of its crystals, which in this species are usually somewhat erratic.

Allargentum with Silver (variety Hg-bearing)

EBB47CD3: Aerial growths of Allargentum
that appear intergrown with Silver with a high mercury content, with some of the faces being well defined, and with small remnants of Calcite which has been acid-etched to reveal the sulfides and native elements.
These are important crystals for the species Allargentum, which is a much rarer species than Dyscrasite. In fact, until the appearance of these Bouismas allargentums, quality specimens were hardly known and, in general, had poorly defined crystals.
The piece has been analyzed and we will send a copy of the analysis to the buyer.

MBF37CD2: Profiled tabular crystals of Baryte, very intense in color and with inclusions of Realgar, showing geometric color zoning on the edges. They are on a matrix covered with rhombohedral flattened Calcite crystals. This piece, in a way, is the recovery of something that caught attention between 2013 and 2015 for its unexpectedness in that mine, and now with the addition of the Realgar inclusions.
This specimen has been photographed and published as a novelty at the 2023 Munich Show in the magazine ‘Lapis‘ number 12/2023, page 38

Quartz (variety amethyst) after Fluorite

Recorded under neon light

MTX56CD1: In Sidi Rahal, these Quartz crystal growths (amethyst variety) that replace the walls of cubic Fluorite crystals, have slightly amethyst color tones, which is why this specimen is so unusual. Its intense color, equivalent to that of the amethysts from Brazil, gives this specimen a very high level of quality.
The Magazines ‘Lapis‘ and Le Règne Minéral‘ know this, and that is why they both reviewed it as a novelty for Munich 2023. Lapis on page 40 of their edition 12/ 2023 and Le Règne Minéral in its number 174/2023, page 25

MRF28CD4: An interesting set of secondary lead minerals from the legendary Touissit. The matrix displays ancient molds of relict cubic Galena crystals and, thanks to an area of cementation, various secondary minerals derived from the initial lead sulfide, resulting in a partial coating of cream-colored Dolomite crystals on which whitish twinned crystals of Cerussite are intergrown with remnants of dark Galena and finally, a beautiful group of lustrous Wulfenite crystals with an intense yellowish color adorning the center of the piece, where they cover an elongated Cerussite crystal, larger and with a different habit and colour than the other crystals of Cerussite on the piece.
The specimen has been analyzed and we will send a copy of the analysis to the buyer.

Fluorite (dichroic) with Quartz

Recorded under neon light

MXF99CD1: Much deserves to be said about this piece, but the Mineralogical Record magazine's website has already done so, in its section "What’s New on the Internet Reports”, vol. 68, December 2023, page 9, and also, and very extensively, the magazines Lapis on page 37 of its 12/2023 edition, and Le Règne Minéral, no. 174/2023, page 26.
These dichroic fluorites from Nigeria have been seen at different shows throughout the year, but until now no specimens of significant quality had appeared. Are we going to see many more specimens of this quality? Is this piece, so perfect, going to be an exception? Impossible to know that now, but surely the year 2024 will show us whether this piece is a unique case or not. The only thing that is certain is that it is a very pretty Fluorite, whatever happens later with specimens from this locality.
